1.00 FTE serves up a three-a-week taste of corporate life just the way you like it, or at least just the way you put up with it anyway.
To give you a good understanding of what 1.00 FTE is all about, here are a few general principles and themes you’ll see throughout the comics:
- Corporate life is a good life. If it isn’t for you, it isn’t for you.
- You work. You get paid. Try not to forget they’re related.
- You aren’t a spectator in your work life or overall career.
- Nobody knows everything. That may include you.
- Career skills differ from work skills. Learn both.
- Leave your crazy at home.
- Professional first. Person second. Act accordingly.
- Think, dammit.
- Other people can be illogical, stupid and frustrating.
- To other people, you are other people.
If you didn’t find these too confronting, come on in and join the conversation. If you did, please return to step 1.
Stuart, the author of 1.00 FTE, is a near 20 year corporate veteran who has enjoyed a range of roles across a number of industries (vague enough for you?). With a Masters degree in Business and Technology and experience as a manager, analyst, consultant and “special project” extraordinaire, he has a somewhat unique perspective on working in the land of the Great White Collar.
Not surprisingly, he has never had any artistic training.
Thanks for the visit. If you have any thoughts, ideas, feedback (constructive or otherwise) or you wish to contact me for any reason, feel free to drop me a note at stuart@onefte.com.
Oh, and one other thing. Obviously, the views expressed in the comics are my own and are not necessarily those of my employer or associates (past, present or future). If you want to know what they’re thinking, ask them directly.

I’ve only recently found your website but I love it. It seems every comic relates to the place where I work. It seemed till I found your site that I must work for the most dysfunctional company in the world. Now I know that’s not the case.
. Keep up the great work!
Given that the comics are an amalgamation of ideas collected from the experiences of many people in many companies, if they all apply to where you work then the world title might still be in your grasp.
Thanks for the great feedback, it’s appreciated.
Love your work – helps broaden my perspectives to work.
Nice work Stuart! Through your comics, you really know how to turn our everyday work battles into a smile
Hi Stuart
I can’t believe I’ve not posted here before…. THANK YOU!!!!
I love your insights and look forward to them every week. I share many which have a cross-purpose with either my sense of humour or my work (management skills development).
Cheers
Sally
